Gregg Burgess was named president and general manager of Arcfield’s Orion Space Solutions (Orion) sector in November 2025. In this role, Gregg leads a team of nearly 100 expert scientists and engineers, oversees the development and execution of Orion’s growth strategy, and manages the day-to-day operations of the sector.

Gregg joined Orion from General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems, where he served as the vice president and general manager of its Space Systems Division. His previous roles include chief technology officer, vice president engineering, and vice president of business development at Sierra Nevada Corporation Space Systems, as well as senior vice president and general manager of national security space at Orbital Sciences Corporation. Gregg is a seasoned leader in the aerospace and defense industry with over 35 years of experience supporting national security, science, and weather missions. His notable contributions to the national defense include the DARPA MiTEx, US Space Force GSSAP, and the AFRL ANGELS and EAGLE programs.

Gregg holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School General Management Program.
