In his role as senior vice president of strategy at Orion, Gerald Thompson leads the operations and business development of all capture and proposal management activities for the organization. He is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction and retention through the entire program life cycle as well as the development and execution of Orion’s commercialization strategy.

Gerald joined Orion in 2013 as the vice president of business development before moving into his current role in 2020. He also served as a board of advisors member for the company for three years before joining Orion. Earlier in his career, Gerald spent 13 years at Bona in a variety of roles but focused heavily on product innovation and operations. Throughout his tenure, Gerald enabled technology development and growth that doubled revenues for the company three times.

Gerald holds a bachelor’s degree in wood science and technology with a focus in chemistry as well as a master’s degree in wood chemistry, science and engineering, both from Colorado State university.
